In the afternoon of May 11, the staff representatives of Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. came to Dongxing Primary School, Jiangyou city of Sichuan Province and brought the children some study-aided materials, such as 300 sets of desks and chairs, 5 computers, 2 printers, 70 electric fans, 30 water dispensers as well as articles for sunstroke prevention and cooling purposes, showing the concerns and prayers from afar in front of them.
During May 12 Wenchuan earthquake, the school was seriously damaged. Till now, the children are still having classes in the movable plank houses, in which the conditions are quite tough.
After May 12 earthquake, Yutong has been attaching great concern on the quake-hit area all the time. Yutong is the first among the China s bus industry who donated 1 million yuan to the disaster area and a rescue team of Yutong was also sent to the front for earthquake relief. In addition, the staff of the company voluntarily contributed funds of over 700,000 yuan to the disaster area and some urgently-needed materials such as tents were transported there many times. In July, 2008, Yutong provided a one-month internship opportunity for 30 impoverished college students from Jiangyou to be trained in Zhengzhou and gave them study grant. Afterwards, Yutong will continually concern the children in quake-hit area via different methods and make our humble effort to their healthy growth.
