The soon past year of 2009 is an extremely unordinary year, in which the domestic energy source industry has responded to the severe challenge of the international financial crisis, built up confidence, went up against the difficulties, worked with dedication and made great harvest in various jobs, and made outstanding contributions for the economic and social development.

In this year, with the guidance of the Scientific Outlook on Development, the competent authorities of all levels, industrial associations, and scientific research institutions diligently followed the package policies and measurements dealing with the financial crisis by Party Central Committee and the State Council.

Increase the investment on energy infrastructure; develop major engineering projects on energy, put more emphasis on stimulating economic growth; vigorously adjust energy industry s structure, develop renewable energy source and new energy source, firmly eliminate the backward productivity; accelerate the acquisition of assets of the abroad energy source and the construction of international passage way, extend the international mutual benefit cooperation of the energy source; speed up the energy source scientific innovation, enhance the localization level of the major equipment for energy; strengthen the administration of the energy source industry so as to improve the enterprises economic benefits and further enhance the industry s cohesive affinity and centripetal force.

The achievement in 2009 does not come easily. It owes the achievement to the leadership of Party Central Committee and the State Council, to the supporting by all the regions and departments, to the hard work and plain living by the overall cadres and staff members, and to the concern and help from various circles of society.

The State Energy Source Office is a newly built organization which is organizationally imperfect and lacks experience.
