| Ice ballet Swan Lake |
On September 18, Russia s St. Petersburg ice ballet troupe the world s most renowned ice ballet troupe performed a splendid classic show of Swan Lake for a Chinese audience at the art center theater of Hebei province.
The performance was part of Shijiazhuang Daily s 2010 classic art show season , which aimed to enrich local people s daily lives and serve as a gratification to readers.
Ten star performers from the ice ballet troupe performed Swan Lake. Eye-dazzling ice ballet techniques like fast rotations on toes and double dances, which perfectly combined skating skills and ballet expertise, interpreted the touching love fairytale.
Different from traditional ballet performances, the ice ballet show of Swan Lake augmented the form by adding figure skating techniques to the show on the basis of traditional music, storyline and classic dances.
The first half of the show was brief and simple, while the latter half was as splendid as a classic fashion show, with over 10 sets of beautiful costumes worth millions of US dollars. The stage decorations and lights well exemplified the stately atmosphere of a European imperial palace.
Members of the audience lost themselves in an unprecedented visual impact by the performers adroit figure skating skills and coherent storyline, as if situated in an ice fairyland the likes of which humankind has never seen.
The ice ballet troupe also performed another classic show, Cinderella, on September 20.
After the Swan Lake shows, Shijiazhuang Daily will welcome other performers, such as the Ireland Tap Dance Troupe.
