Opening of the Library in Xianlin Campus

At 3 p.m. on June 13th, representatives of teachers and students of our school, gathering at the west gate of the library of the Xianlin campus, witnessed the ceremonious opening of the new library. The attendants of the opening ceremony include Secretary Min Chunfa, Deputy-secretary Cao Jincai, as well as Vice-presidents Huang Wei, Liu Chen, Ye Meilan, Zhu Hongbo and Zhang Chunfu, together with the heads of secondary units, all the members of Library Working Committee, and representatives of teachers and students, making an audience of over one hundred. Vice-president Zhu Hongbo was the presider of the grand ceremony.
Secretary Min Chunfa delivered a speech of great significance, extending his ardent expectation for the construction and development of the library. Curator Li Lei made a introduction of the whole picture of it. Besides, Professor Mi Zhengkun, on behalf of all the teachers, and Conglin, on behalf of all the students, also expressed their cordial congratulations on the opening of the library.
All the school leaders present cut the ribbon and took a group photo to mark this occasion. After the ceremony, some guests swiped cards to enter the library and had a tour around the new building.
The library in Xianlin campus of NUPT was started constructing in 2007, and was completed in May, 2010, with a building area of about 33,018 square meters, a collection of 684,437 books, 4,645 seats for its readers, and modern service facilities such as newspaper reading machines, guidance stations, automatic borrowing-returning machines, separate reading rooms for VIPs, etc.. The new library employs the modern management mode of "the Great Circulation" integrating storing, borrowing and reading with a single entry exit. Readers, in and out with their bags, enjoys great freedom here. The library is truly a spiritual paradise of all the readers.
