Delegation of Northern Illinois University (NIU) visited Jiangsu University during May 20-22, 2010. They finished their Engineering Study Abroad Program and enjoyed exchanging information with students of Jiangsu University on campus. The delegation, headed by dean, Prof. Xinmin Song, is made up of 12 seniors in School of Mechanical Engineering. They studied abroad for three weeks in such Chinese cities as Beijing, Xuzhou, Zhenjiang, Hangzhou and Shanghai etc. to complete two summer courses: Design of movable Roberts and Globalization of Manufacturing Industry in China .
The delegation visited Industrial Centre, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Automotive &Traffic Engineering, School of Energy & Power Engineering, the Research Centre of Fluid Machinery and Engineering and listened to a lecture Chinese Automobile Industry given by Prof. Xiang Gao in School of Automotive &Traffic Engineering, which was followed by heated discussion with professors and students of School of Automotive &Traffic Engineering. The delegation also visited Jiangsu Wenguang Group, a famous manufacturing enterprise in Zhenjiang.
These American students are very industrious and showed great interest no matter in their professional knowledge study or Chinese culture exchanges. They carried satchels and notebooks wherever they go. Deeply impressed by the campus environment, teaching and research facilities, high quality of teachers and students at Jiangsu University, they hope henceforth to find opportunities to further exchange their respective learning result on the basis of course study, and welcome students from Jiangsu University to visit NIU.
