On December 4th, Professor V. Vitanov , Doctoral tutor, the dean of the state key laboratory of British engineering and computer science, and the department of engineering and computer science of Durham university, came to our university for an eight-day academic lecturing and scientific research cooperation. The program is supported by the State Natural Science Funds Commission (NSFC) and Natural Science Funds Commission of Hebei province.
Professor Vitanov is the director of British electronic engineer association, with the Bachelor degrees of System Engineering and the Master degree of Applied Mathematics in Muscovite University, the PhD of Automation in British Stan Ford University. His main research direction is Information Engineering and Industrial Automation. Currently, he has taken some part-time jobs in UK AeroSpace, Defence & Security Industries BAe, Britain MaKeNi Defense Industries Marconi, Britain Roy Rolls Royce Royce, European airbus Aribus and BMW, Nissan, Frictec etc. And he undertakes some responsible positions of several research plans.
Durham University is ranked in the top five key universities in Britain, which has a long history in the engineering and computer science national key laboratory and enjoys a high academic reputation internationally. Professor Vitanov came to our school mainly for the relevant collaborative research with professors Zheng-Xu Zhao and Chang-You Zhang from ISTS in information engineering field, meanwhile took several academic lecture activities, and would also talk about the feasibility of exchanges and cooperation.
