2011 SJTU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum Began

On the afternoon of March 16, the 2011 SJTU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum held the first lecture this semester. Zhu Minyang, member of Standing Committee of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Jiangyin Municipal Committee, and Zhang Lei, Chairman and General Manager of Jiangyin Envision Energy Technology Co., Ltd., respectively delivered the speeches titled "Opportunities for SJTU Students to Start a Business with the Development of Jiangyin, Jiangsu-No.

One of Top 100 Counties of China in Comprehensive Economic Strength" and "To Build Smart Chinese Enterprises with Top Talents in the Background of Globalization". They shared their opinions on the approaches to innovation and entrepreneurship. Before the lecture, Secretary Ma Dexiu of CPC SJTU Committee, Deputy Secretary Xu Fei, and Vice President Wu Dan met with the guests.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum is a general education course promoted by Ma Dexiu, Secretary of CPC SJTU Committee in 2007. Since its establishment, the Forum has always stuck to the mission "to let the spirit of innovation be rooted in the heart of SJTU students, let the strength of entrepreneurship bring a burst to the life of SJTU students".

Lectures have been given by a great number of noted people including entrepreneurs such as Liu Chuanzhi, Wang Shi, Yu Minhong, SJTU alumnus Shen Nanpeng, the talented venture capitalist, Chairman Wang Zhongjun of Huayi Brothers, and the writer Hai Yan, Vice President of Jinjiang International Group, and also Professor Xu Fei, senior expert in innovative thinking and leadership and Professor Meng Xianzhong in strategic management.

It is the first time for the Forum to invite the county-level party leaders to make speeches, which brought a wonderful start to the Forum in 2011.
