The Communication Conference on Chemical Frontier Research Findings, organized by SJTU and Nagoya University (Japan), was held at the Academic Activity Center on SJTU Minhang Campus from March 10 to 12. Experts and scholars from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), Nanjing University (China), Nagoya University (Japan), Seoul National University (Korea) and Pohang University of Science and Technology (Korea) gathered to share the latest academic information and their research findings on Chemistry, High Molecule Science, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
62 participants attended the conference, of which, 34 came from Japan and Korea. The five universities (covering six departments) each had six professors present their academic results. A special section of graduate wall newspaper was established as an information platform for future academic exchange and graduate co-education between the five universities.
During the conference period, the seminar for Asia Campus Program was also held.
Su Ming, Executive Deputy Secretary of the SJTU Party Committee, attended the conference on behalf of SJTU and made an opening speech. He extended his congratulations to the opening of the communication conference and made highly complementary remarks about Asia Campus Program. He also expressed his expectation of a cooperative union formed by top universities in China, Japan and Korea, which enables extensive academic exchange in graduate co-education and course credit recognition, Asian educational resources sharing, innovation in science and technology.
Student exchange programs among the three countries will be greatly enhanced so as to promote cultural exchange and international competitiveness of universities in the three countries.
