8 April 2009, Reutlingen - Leading flat knitting machine builder Stoll has recently launched a ‘Pattern Library’ service, which allows its customers to order books of knitted swatches from the company’s highly regarded Trend Collections, which are normally only available in printed and digital format each season.
Pattern Library, which is a limited edition, is available upon request from the company (see below for contact details). Joerg Hartmann, Managing Director, Stoll Fashion & Technology International explains:
“Our Pattern Library consists of A4 sized knit swatches developed for the company’s Trend Collections and customers can create their own individual physical pattern archive by subscribing to the Pattern Library for multiple seasons. In addition, customers can also navigate and research each of the individual archive books via our online pattern database at www.stollpattern.com .”
“And why not provide your creative and technical team with a wide variety of knitting techniques as a key source of information for new product development. Or alternatively, make Stoll’s Pattern Library part of your knowledge management system since it provides educational tools for in-house training of new staff. As you collect more volumes, Stoll's Pattern Library becomes a priceless treasure”, Hartmann added.

Customers looking for a certain pattern for a new order or looking for suggestions for their next collection may require a matching digital template once a design has been selected. This is now possible, quickly and simply with a click of the mouse as Stoll now presents all of its company patterns as digital templates in the Stoll pattern database at www.stollpattern.com .
Stoll customers can also download patterns directly 24/7 and start knitting straight away, the company says. The international Stoll pattern database is updated continuously, and allows the user to find patterns different search criteria, such as machine types, gauges, nominal widths, style and much more.
