Klopman International – Europe’s leading manufacturer of polyester/cotton and cotton fabrics for the image workwear, protectivewear and casual apparel markets – owned since 2004 by a group of European financial investors led by BS Private Equity Group, has, as of the end of April, been acquired by MW Unitexx S.A.
A wholly owned subsidiary of MW Corp of Mumbai, India, MW Unitexx S.A. is a sister company of S.Kumars Unitexx (not to be confused with S. Kumars Nationwide, a company listed on the Mumbai stock exchange).
S.Kumars Unitexx is an Indian company whose brand name S.Kumars is the most well-known brand of fabrics for workwear and school uniforms.
Klopman, who recorded revenues of 125 million euros in fiscal year 2007, started business in Europe at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Frosinone, Italy, in 1968 and has continued to make substantial investments in advanced technologies and its production facilities.
The company has an extensive sales and customer service network, with offices throughout Europe. Its position as market leader is one that has been achieved through a philosophy of total commitment to performance and investment, allied with an unrivalled understanding of market needs and trends.
Whilst celebrating 40 years of dedication to the European textile sector, this change of ownership will see Klopman able to reach a much wider market, especially in Asia and the Far East, giving the company an increasingly global outlook ready to serve worldwide market needs for branded fabrics – working closely as always with customers, garment manufacturers and rental laundries.
