India : Technical Textiles - ATNT 2007 to be held in Coimbatore

An International Conference on Advances in Textiles, Machinery, Nonwoven and Technical Textiles-ATNT 2007, will be held in Coimbatore city, popularly known as ‘Manchester of South India’ from June 18 to 20, 2007. It is jointly organized by Kumaraguru College of Technology, India and The Institute of Environmental and Human Health, Texas Tech University, USA.
The conference is broad based and will focus on the emerging and cutting-edge advancements in the frontier areas of Natural and Synthetic Fibers, Polymer and Fiber Production, General Textiles, Textile Machinery, Coloration and Finishing, Textile Testing, Nanotechnology, Smart Textiles, Nonwoven and Technical Textiles.
India is emerging as a textile and manufacturing powerhouse with enormous growth opportunities. With the burgeoning middle class population over 300 million; there will be an explosion of textile material usage in all sorts of applications, providing a huge market for global textile players. India is a preferred place for multinationals to venture into a myriad of business opportunities including nonwoven, medical, technical textiles and apparel sectors.
The conference theme and the place are ideal in the globalized economy and will provide a common platform for international community to exchange knowledge on the latest technological developments taking place in the global arena of textiles and allied fields.
Given the importance of India in the global trade, this conference is timely and would open up a number of opportunities for global players for collaboration. This year’s conference will be the fourth international conference organized by Texas Tech University in India.
