St. Kitts and Nevis two inglorious places attract the attention of many Japan textile enterprises due to its high quality cotton. St.Kitts & Nevis located in north of East Caribbean Sea is an ideal place for planting cotton tropic oceanic climate, average air temperature of 26 , average rainfall of 1220 mm. In the meanwhile, to change the sugar-orientation economy pattern and increase earning from foreign exchange by promoting cotton planting and cotton export, St.Kitts government is paying much attention to speed perfecting agricultural facility and develop local gin industry and cotton planting industry. To promote its reputation in international market, the minister of Agricultural Ministry Dr.Kelvin Daly reminded that the cotton in St.Kitts & Nevis is planted and processed according to international market standard.

On the other hand, facing the surged cotton price and cotton shortage in international market, Japan is in dire need of high quality cotton as a main manufacturer and consumer of textile products in Asia and gives great interest to Nevis cotton as a biggest purchaser for inland cotton. Recently, Japan panel for purchasing West-India cotton has visited St. Kitts and Nevis and met with the officials from St. Kitts and Nevis to discussing cooperation project for St. Kitts and Nevis cotton. It is learned that this panel is planning to purchase about 100000pounds cotton from St. Kitts and Nevis.
