Vietnam : Footwear exports to US may earn $1.2bn in 2007

This year, Ministry of Trade (MOT) anticipated that footwear's export turnover to the US would surge from US $1.1 to $1.2 billion, a year–on–year increase of about 25-30 percent, source informed.
According to statistics of US MOT, country imported footwear worth $717 million in 2005, a hike of 51.5 percent compared to 2004.
In 2006, US imported footwear about worth $930 to $950 million, rose 32 percent over previous year, Vietnam being the third biggest supplier.
Experts believe that exports to US would increase in future as Vietnam has officially become member of WTO.
