The weekly report from US Agricultural Ministry shows that during Feb.2-8, 2007, cotton in market saw the average price decreased by 20% for a week. Until Wednesday, cotton with basic quality registered the average price of 49.31cents, lower 49.51cent than last week, 52.56 than last week. The highest price for a week is 50.13cents while the lowest one is 48.40cents until Feb.8.
Until Feb.8, the bargained cotton for this week reached 27916 bundles, the one for last week 45166bundles, the one for last year 796554bundles. The future cotton witnessed the price at 52.41cents in Wednesday compared with the settlement price at 53.57cents.
It is declared by US Agricultural Department that world cotton price is 43.65cents during Feb.9-15. The LDP for RAYON registered 8.35cents/pounds while the competitive price of ELS is 0.00cent.
In South-East market, cotton witnesses the slack trade, conservative supply and steady average price.
