International Polyester & PET Industry Chain Conference was held in capital of Holland Amsterdam.
The general manager of MAACK Business Service Co., ltd, Switzerland Faycal Charaf deliver the background of this conference in <>:
Current circumstance
The factors tow international Polyester product chain include: the surged consumption of China, India, the great demand from Russia, Eastern-Europe etc, the fluctuation of price of oil and material, the growing advantage of polyester fiber, process economics and the increasing production of PX, PTA,PET.
However, the price of oil and material is featured factor. It can be forecasted that oil price will be skyscraping, which influence the price of PX, PTA, and MEG.
BP, Invista, Mitsubishi and Eastman have established many PTA factories. But what we are interested in is that Sinopec has announced that they will promote a PTA technology with output of 1million ton.

Focus on China
MBS forecasted that the output of polyester fiber will be increased by 7.5%, the consumption of polyester up by 7.0% during 2005-2010 if global economy witnesses a healthy development.
China throughput of polyester fiber is forecasted to be 25million tons. Its equipment usage rate is analyzed to be only 60% due to the quota imposed by US an EU. In the meanwhile, the polyester output of China Taiwan also decrease, the same is equipment usage rate down to 65%.The news shows recently that US is considering imposing anti-dumping tariff on China short fiber.
However, during 2005-2010, China polyester consumption still will be about 16%. Sinopec claim that it will establish a PTA factory with annual throughput of 1million ton. The capability to build big-scale PTA & Polyester enterprise with low cost endows competitive advantage to China polyeter.
Future
In last years, industry alteration and annex has taken place in e US & EU polyester fiber field. Some dominant fiber factory including Kosa, Tergal, Brilen, Montefibre etc turned to produce PET colophony, some to special fiber and differential products.
All above were discussed by over 450 attendees from global polyester industry in this conference.
