The Commerce Department has recommended to levy anti-dumping duty on Chinese silk fabrics. If this recommendation is taken into consideration it is bound to affect half-a-dozen Chinese exporters and their associates.
Investigation on anti-dumping was based on numerous complaints from Karnataka based organizations.
According to official sources, commerce department has recommended anti-dumping duty between 40 and 50 percent and once Finance Ministry will declare, duties will be levied on silk fabrics.
Imposing this duty may make impact on India s decision on assigning market economy status to China.
