It is reported by US <> on Sep.29 that US custom detained a great number of textile & fashion from Philippine in harbors in south of California to strike illegal transit trade of China products. The super level official who takes charge of textile business in US Custom--Miss Janet Labuda showed that Philippine would enter into "radar screen" of US custom before about six months. In fact, since September, US custom had headed off nearly all textile & fashion from South-East Asia. Because the affirming of original production area should cost about one month, US custom's big-scale inspection take great effect on those importers who intend to deliver goods before the end of September.

US custom's inspection extended all categories from jeans, knit wear, and shirt to children wear. Different from former inspection, this activity not involved special foreign garment factories or special category garment. Two lawyers specialized in US custom lawyer business from US Xiubo International Lawyer Office Elon Pollacke and Brian Murphy told to reporter that to release the detained goods from custom as soon as possible, their office was assisting customers who imported garment from Philippine to clean up production documents because one of main measures of US custom inspecting original production is asking for the original production document from importers who would be refused clearance or detained goods if they delivered incomplete ,leaky or incredible producing record. Brian Murphy lawyer directed that US custom has imposed pressure on importer to make knowledge of production place.

To strike illegal textile transit trade, US has already signed understanding memo with Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macao etc. It is known that US Trade Representative office is negotiating with South-Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan to sign similar memo.
