Counterfeit Lacoste footwear worth P39 million were seized by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Pasay city.
After filing of complain by local distributors of the brand, authorities raided a retail store and got hold of fake shoes in large volume. A total of 8, 473 pairs of shoes were seized with each pair costing P400 each.
The company stood to loose P38, 975, 800 as an original pair of Lacoste costs P4, 600 each. Earlier on, two couples were arrested while selling fake Lacoste shirts worth P4 million.
