India : Dharmapuri emerges garment hubas

Write: Hye [2011-05-20]

Apart from the Tirupur, Dharmapuri is emerging as garment hub with over 22 stiching units employing around 500 women.

Garment manufacturers from Tirupur and Salem are facing dire scarcity of skilled labourers and therefore, they are sourcing fabric from these stitching units.

Dharmapuri is well-connected with other textile and garment hubs such as Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore and Bangalore by road and rail.

10 percent of the workforce of Banglore, Tirupur and Coimbtore are from Dharmapuri.

Knitwear industry in Tirupur is growing exponentially and looking for skilled labour intensive towns and Dharmapuri is the best destination for that.
