It is reported by local media in June.20 that Peru National Industry Association disclose that this association plan to put forward one application to Indecop for taking trade safeguard measures. The chairman of National Industry Fashion Committee–Felipe James show:"We will ask Indecopi to carry out investigation to take trade safeguard measures on China fashion. We are ready to hand in a request and corresponding document. It is hoped to finish before end of month."
He directs that at present, National Industry Association is preparing corresponding documents and data about the harm to Peru Folk Industry brought Asia fashion import. He announce:"During January-May, China fashion import increase greatly and exceed the level in 2003. It is out of question that national industry has been harmed deeply". James explains that the enterprise influenced by China fashion import is small sized enterprises whose products mainly sold in Peru market.
He also said that because government censor need time, taking trade safeguard measures can not be confirmed in short period.
He also showed that National Industry Association has no plan to discuss trade safeguard measures in conference until delivering of corresponding application.
