Finland asked EU to reduce the import restrictions on Chinese textiles

Write: Madelia [2011-05-20]

Currently, a large number of Chinese textiles are overstocked in Finland port because of they exceed the EU quota restrictions. Facing this situation, Finland Government, importers and retailers are asking the EU to reduce the import restrictions on Chinese textiles.

As an EU member, Finland is always averse to the EU restrictions on Chinese textile import, and demands EU to solve the overstock of Chinese textiles as soon as possible.

According to the Finland Customs statistics, there are 110,000 sets of sweaters and 20,000 pieces of trousers overstocked in Finland port and airport. Since the products can not enter distribution channels, Finland garment importers, wholesalers and retailers have suffered severe loss, hence they hope the EU can settle this issue as soon as possible.
