Anshari Bukhari, general director of the Indonesian Textile Industry, says recently that the Indonesian government and the Congress have agreed to fund 200 billion Rupiahs (about 21.5 million dollars) to help textile industry to update machinery and equipment in 2007.
Anshari Bukhari also says the Ministry will investigate the enterprises desires, while currently about 30 large mills have expressed interest in this plan.
Indonesian textile and garment factories and its production equipment generally are very old. Many of the machines and equipment have been used for more than 20 years, thereinto, the rate of using equipment over 20 years in spinning mill is 64%, 82% of textile mill, 84% of knitting mill, 93% of weaving factory, and in garment factory, it is 78%.
