Egypt becomes the 14th country in Africa to give China full market-economy status, along with countries like Algeria, Sudan, the Central African Republic and Sierra Leone.
The two countries have entered into an agreement to develop trade and investment ties.
With this agreement, China will turn into Egypt s largest trading partner within 10 years.
Trade between China and Egypt grew to $1.96 billion in the first eight months, a 48 percent jump on the year, according to the ministry sources.
