Vietnamese workplace safety apparel exports soared by 167%

According to Vietnamese Trade Ministry, for the first eight months of this year, Vietnam exported 3.86 million sets of workplace safety apparel, amounting to 20.75 million U.S. dollars. Compared with the corresponding period in 2005, the quantity increased 167%, ad 125.6% growth rate in sum.

For the first eight months of 2006, workplace safety apparel exports are among the fastest growing commodities in terms of quantity and sum.

Since early September, the Vietnamese textile and garment exports declined in most markets, and the total merchandise exports fell by 22% compared with last month, while the total amount was 491 million U.S. dollars.
