The big name of Germany's textile and apparel industry Joseph-Albert Beckman said on Nov. 6th that since Chinese textile and garment industry's robust growth is the trend of the times, German textile and garment enterprises should regard China as a partner of development and cooperation.
Beckman used to be chairman of the Federation of German Textile and Clothing Industry, this time he came to participate in the "Chinese Textile and Apparel Trade Fair". Beckman said : "Although some German companies regard the development of China's textile industry as a threat, the German Textile and Clothing Industry Association considers that in view of Germany's expensive labor and China's potential market, the best choice for German textile and garment enterprises is to establish cooperative relations with Chinese partners to seek win-win development."
Beckman emphasized that Germany and China had signed an understanding memorandum to protect intellectual property rights. The prospect for cooperation between Germany and China in textile and garment industry is positive.
Beckmann also introduced that the German Textile and Clothing Industry Association will promote exchanges and cooperation with China in three ways: 1. to provide assistance and advice for German-invested enterprises in China; 2. to promote the opening and expansion of China's textile and garment market; 3. to help find partners and suppliers for German enterprises in China, and to export Chinese textile and apparel products to Germany.
The first " Chinese Textile and Apparel Trade Fair (Germany) sponsored by China Textile Industry Association was held from Nov. 5-7th in the western German city of Karlsruhe. Nearly 100 excellent domestic textile and garment enterprises which possess their own intellectual property rights and own brands gathered in the 5,000 square-meter exhibition scene, the exhibits covered men and women s clothing, leisure garment, jewelry, textiles and household fabrics.
