In October 2006, exports turnover of Vietnamese footwear industry suffered a sharp drop of US $10 million compared with September, earning $230 million for entire shoes categories and markets, an industrial source said.
In spite of such declining in October, total exports turnover of the industry during the first ten months 2006 reached $2.87 million, needing about $500 million to fulfill exports target of whole 2006.
So far, the footwear is ranking at the third place in list of goods having biggest earnings of Vietnam.
However, industrial experts seem concerned that export orders for the 2007 Spring Summer season were still not enough, affected largely by EU s official 10 percent anti dumping lawsuit on Vietnamese leather shoes.
