Write: Macmorris [2011-05-20]

Bedding product manufacturer American Textile Co., Duquesne, Pa., will build an 83,000-square-foot pillow-manufacturing plant, adding 50 employees to its existing workforce of 102. The plant will be located next to the company's headquarters and distribution center, which opened in April 2003.

American Textile has received a $1 million low-interest loan through the Citizens Job Bank program, $3 million in financial support through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and $530,000 through the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development.

The company chose to expand its operation in Allegheny County, creating new jobs and opportunities, which is good news for our working families, said Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell, whose Harrisburg, Pa.-based Governor Action Team assists businesses looking to establish or expand facilities in Pennsylvania.
