EU will adopt new textile quota in 2007

It is learned that EU will increase the quota for China textile. EU's announce in Dec.5 shows that the quota will be adopted by Bulgaria and Rumania who will be EU's member countries. According to No.3030/93 rule of EU Council, since January.1, 2007, the quota & supervision system is also applicable to the textile & garment exported to the enlarged EU.

The announce shows that China textile & garment enterprises must deliver import license if they want to export the restricted textile & garment to two new EU member countries-- Bulgaria and Rumania before or after January.1,2007. Once being offered the testified document (such as bill) to ensure the freight before January.1, 07 from importer, new EU member countries authority will send import license automatically.

The new proposal of EU Committee directed that EU Committee has referred the new quota for 2007 to council in Dec.1. The quota has not been disclosed, but it is expected to witness a rising because EU Committee set the quota according to the trade circumstance of Roumania and Bulgaria.

The follow is China textile & garment category with quota, the restricted quantity in 2006 and the percent of used quota before Dec.2006. Until now, the products with most used quota are 115category(hemp yarn or ramee yarn), 5 category(pull over, corsetry), 7category(woman's wear, children's wear, T-shirt )
