The revival Italy textile & garment industry witness the increasing demand on cotton yarn. During January to September,2006, Italy cotton import totaled 0.096million tons, up 8% instead of 0.0132million tons in September.
Turkey is the main cotton yarn supplier for Italy. During January to Septemer,2006, Turkey exported 0.0204million tons cotton yarn to Italy, up by 18%. The second supplier is India who exported 0.019million tons cotton yarn to Italy, increased by 5%; the third is Syria exported 9709.8tons cotton yarns to Italy, up 48.9%. The other main supplier's country is China and Pakistan.
