A new integrated coating device is introduced by A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH for its multifunctional Montex stenters.
Incorporating the ‘knife over air’ principle, the new device is intended for foam and paste applications with acrylic and silicon products on woven and nonwoven fabrics including fleece and stabilised nonwovens – for fine coating of fashion fabrics plus hydrophobic (water repelling) and hydrophilic (water attracting) fabrics.
Applied as a single side coating, applications include for example, outdoor wear, pigmenting of jeans fabrics and water-repellent coatings for awnings and sunshades.
The coating unit is installed in the inlet platform of the Montex stenter. The inlet is rail-mounted so as to ensure horizontal movement of the complete platform ensuring space to vertically engage/disengage the coating device.
Coating chemicals are mixed and prepared in a mobile foam generator/mixer alongside the inlet platform. The mixed chemicals are then transferred through a hose and nozzle applicator across the coating device to provide an even application of the coating onto the fabric.
This technique ensures the shortest distance from the coating point to the needle in position in the stenters chain. The integrated coating device is also available as a wider option for coating woven and nonwoven fabrics.
When fitted with the new coating device, the Monforts Montex stenter is a true ‘all rounder’ for all types of fabrics and optimum fabric runs.
