A new venue has been announced for the annual trade show which showcases the latest developments in performance textiles.
‘Textiles at Work 2008’, organised by the Performance Textiles Association, will be staged at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) from 4-5 March, 2008 and will again see a wide range of products and services that typifies the breadth and diversity of textiles employed in many different working environments.
Following a three year tenancy at the Telford International Centre, the Performance Textiles Association have decided to take it ‘back on the road’ and have selected for 2008 one of the UK’s premier conference, exhibition and entertainment venues.
The BIC, home to major political party conferences for many years, provides not only the facilities required to stage the annual trade show for all involved in industrial textiles, but also, with its excellent coastal location, the opportunity for social events to be organised as part of the two day event.
A number of new initiatives are also planned for 2008, including ‘Meet the Buyer’ where presentations by representatives of various industry sectors will be followed by a series of pre-arranged meetings with exhibiting companies.
The Show will take place in the ground floor Solent Hall of the BIC, a 1,500 square metre facility with pillar-free floor space to ensure optimum flexibility for exhibitors.
Alongside the Show will be the popular Performance Textiles Awards, an annual ceremony which rewards the best from the Performance Textiles Association’s members in six categories, including Product/Project of the Year, Business Person of the Year and the Innovation Award.
The Awards will be presented as part of a Gala Dinner at the Royal Bath Hotel, one of Bournemouth’s premier hotels, with sea views and within easy access of the BIC and the many facilities offered by Bournemouth.
