ABIT, through Texbrasil, a program developed in partnership with Apex-Brasil, supported the second edition of the Minas Trend Preview, which was held in Belo Horizonte, from April 29 to May 4.
This time the group of buyers was comprised of professionals from Russia, Colombia, Switzerland and Germany. The Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG) held the event, which was organized by Dupla Assessoria.
Carlos Alberto Velez came from Colombia, where he works in the cities of Medellin and Bogotá. He works as an agent there. He visits countries and depending on what he finds, brings specific buyers for each market or product.
"Here in Minas Gerais, I came in search of adult men’s fashion in general, except for adult women’s fashion and beachwear, including handbags and footwear. Here at the event, I underscore the quality of the products.
The prints, colors and different patterns are also very interesting. However, even with the high quality of the pieces, the prices are high,” says Velez. “I chose some exhibiter brands and asked for samples.
I think it will be possible to do business with them. I will create a book with the samples and show it to the buyers,” he explains.
He also underscored the importance of ABIT’s work in this sort of action. "This opportunity ABIT gives international buyers to learn about the diversity of events in Brazil is very interesting," he underscored.
The quality of the products also called the attention of the Russian buyer. Maria Panteleeva (on the right in the photo) was at Minas Trend Preview and interested in buying women’s clothing pieces for the eight-store chain she represents in Russia. She highlighted the work by stylists Walter Rodrigues and Victor Dzenk.
"They develop very sophisticated pieces, with good taste and high quality," she says. “In general, I noticed the exhibitor brands opt to work with noble fabrics, which greatly increases final product price, and which moves a little away from the profile of customers at the stores I supply,” the buyer commented. She also said this first time in Brazil gave her a good impression and she intends to come back to get to know about other events in the country.
