Members of the International Textile Market Association (ITMA) are showing their true color Pink by supporting the fight against breast cancer.
Elegant fabrics donated by textile manufacturers were used to construct women’s designer jackets that will be auctioned through silent bidding until June 1.
All of the funds raised will go to Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test, a Greensboro-based nonprofit whose mission is to support research for early diagnostic testing for breast cancer.
The jackets will appear on dress forms during Showtime and were displayed in showrooms during the High Point Furniture Market in April.
3 Sisters Clothing, a specialty apparel manufacturer based in Dallas, Texas, which incorporates home furnishings fabrics in its fashions, constructed the jackets.
Fabrics were donated by these ITMA member companies: Costa Blanca, Classical Elements, Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, Sunbury Textile Mills, Hamilton Fabric Sales, Valdese Weavers, Craftex Mills, and Textile Fabric Associates. In addition, a woven throw will be auctioned, courtesy of Textillery Weavers.
Proxy bids for all items can be made by calling the ITMA office. Successful bidders will be announced at a Showtime event on Sunday, June 1.
Founded in 1990, the ITMA is a non-profit trade association that produces Showtime for its member companies, mostly home furnishings textile manufacturers. The next Showtime runs June 1-4.
