The company said a women's collection by Williamson will be launched globally on April 23 and a summer collection for both men and women in mid-May.
"Matthew has such a good eye and a way for working with prints that he mixes up in a new way. When he combines these things, you get a very contemporary London look," H&M creative adviser Margareta van den Bosch said in a statement.
Williamson reached critical acclaim with his colorful collections in London in 1997 and his designs are often worn by celebrities such as Keira Knightley and Gwyneth Paltrow.
H&M has a long history of collaborating with big-name fashion designers. Previous collaborations include collections by Comme des Garcons-founder Rei Kawakubo, Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld, among others.
