No matter how young, fit, and slender you are, the so-called "fake love handles" always form after men's undershirts ride up and bunch above the beltline. The days of buying a size up or down, tucking into your underwear, and throwing shirts away after they shrink are now over for men everywhere.
Tom Patterson was fed up with men's undershirts that never fit right or stayed tucked, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. The former medical device salesman designed an undershirt tapered at the waist, longer than typical "square or box" cuts, and is made from his US Design and Utility Patent-Pending Tailored Stretch line.
"With the Tommy John Tailored Stretch line, men achieve a sleek, sophisticated look instead of the typical box cut, stretched out, yellowing undershirt that men try to hide," he says. The undershirt stays tucked in giving men the form-fitting, smooth, streamlined look they need when they need to look their best. Although it fits well, it doesn't provide fake love handles from the bunching nor is it so tight that it accentuates love handles.
Many men tailor their suits and dress shirts and were excited to discover an undershirt that enhanced their appearance.
"Retailers need to recognize the consumer demand for such a unique garment," says Patterson. Between 60-80% of women wear the wrong bra size, I think even more men wear the wrong undershirt. Women have SPANX, leggings, and well-constructed bras to create a smooth look. With Tommy John, men no longer have to settle for undershirts that don't work or fit correctly."
Blogger Tug from TheUndershirtGuy.com is already a fan. "The Tailored Stretch technology and tailored cut does exactly what they say it will do. Once pulled down over your hips and butt, this undershirt will stay in place. It will not ride up, bunch up or come untucked. Very well executed, Tommy John," he posted.
Tommy John will be launching its new collection at MAGIC Las Vegas Feb 17-19.
