UK: Array of designer fabrics to feature at 'Textile Forum London 2009'

Fabrics for the designer market on show at Textile Forum.
From top end wools to finest silks, plains, fancies, embroideries, prints and and exotic animal skins – that’s the mix of fabrics for the designer market that will be on show at the next Textile Forum, being held from 18-19 March 2009 at The Music Room in London.
“Exhibitors at Textile Forum specialise in exciting,innovative, quality collections, available in small minimums, which is are just right for invigorating the designer market during these tough economic times,” says organiser Linda Laderman.
A new range of digital prints will be shown by Bennett Silks, while Ascher will be promoting originals from its extensive archive. Fancy jacquards will be offered by Filtex, which also has a large selection of embroidered designs. As far as colours are concerned, bridalwear specialists Carrington Fleet is meeting the demand for green tones with lace in pistachio and avocado alongside traditional shades.
Keen to encourage UK talent, Ringhart, the shirtings specialists, has organised a competition with students at Kingston University to demonstrate that its fabrics are not just for traditional tailored shirts. Finalists designs and mood boards will be displayed at the show for final judging by a panel of industry experts.
Marling & Evans will be showing finest West of England woollens: wool and cashmere Saxony suitings, twist jacketings and coatings, covert venetians/whipcords, as well as performance country-cloths, all with comfort/washable finishes.
G H Leathers specialises in leather and suede as well as exotic skins such as eel, stingray and python which can be used for garments, footwear and leathergoods.
Bernstein & Banleys will have its full range of linings and interlinings. New stock supported items include 100% silk satin polka-dot linings as well as a range of exclusive jacquard weaves in various designs and colourways. The company is to launch a transactional website shortly.

Textile Forum is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
