It’s official! First Lady Michelle Obama has a fur-free closet. After French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy wrote a letter to PETA describing how she will now no longer wear real fur, Michelle followed suit, refusing to wear even fur trim. “Michelle Obama does not wear fur,” confirms Mrs. Obama’s press secretary. When these two first ladies get together they not only agree on their fashion choices, but their fur-free stance as well.
However, why is leather not included in a fur-free stance? Michelle dare not wear fur, yet does not question to flaunt her Jimmy Choo leather gardening boots. Is a cow not the same as a mink? Should she throw away her leather garments as well?
