Industry Minister Mohammad S. Hidayat has admitted that local textile industry faced serious difficulties to deal with cheap China textile.

"It is hard [to compete with China]," he said on Sunday in Bandung as quoted by Kompas.com

He said China had local materials such as cotton and chemical substances to supply its textile industry, while Indonesia had to import 99.5 percent of its cotton.

"China interest rate is more promising than that in here." he added. "They also implement tax break for export-oriented industry.""China interest rate is more promising than that in here." he added. "They also implement tax break for export-oriented industry."
