Coveted contemporary fashion brand Gypsy ’05 is proud to announce that as of December 15, 2009, their Southern California headquarters is going green.
A true revolution for the garment industry, this will be the first completely solar-paneled manufacturing facility in Los Angeles.
“It’s been our goal to make a mark in the fashion world, without leaving a carbon footprint on the rest of the world,” said Gypsy ‘05 CEO Dotan Shoham. “We feel like we’re living the dream right now.”
Using nature as the inspiration behind each collection, Gypsy ’05 is one of the fastest growing eco-friendly fashion lines on the market today. Garments are created using organic and natural fabrics, organic soy softeners, low impact dyes, and an organic seaweed extract for printing.
“People feel very connected to our clothing, not only because it’s so easy to wear, but because of our efforts to protect the planet,” said Shoham. “Gypsy ’05 is about a lifestyle, and our customers relate to the philosophy behind the brand in addition to loving the look of our clothes.”
While the company’s goal of being environmentally responsible is a message that resonates on a global level, Gypsy ‘05 strives to hold true to its roots by infusing the sunny spirit of Los Angeles into its designs. The “Here Comes the Sun” sweats collection not only reflects the laid-back lifestyle of Angelenos, it also pays tribute to the sun’s widespread power as the ultimate energy source. In celebration of Gypsy ‘05’s solar paneled facility, styles from the “Here Comes the Sun” group will be brought back this season, and available in limited quantities.
“Going green needs to be the way of the future for the garment industry and we’re doing everything we can to promote that message and make sure we are leading by example,” said Shoham.
