USA: Moi-Meme expands custom-railored women's dress shirts line

Moi-Meme, the New York City-based custom career clothier for women, announces the launch of its inaugural made-to-measure line of tailored women's dress shirts. The new line expands the brand's collection beyond contemporary, sophisticated suits and extends its geographical reach through online ordering capabilities for custom-tailored dress shirts for women.
"We began testing custom shirts for women with a small segment of our customer base one year ago and found the results to be remarkable both in terms of customer interest and our ability to deliver consistently well-fitted tailored shirts," reports Moi-Meme Founder and CEO, Dawn Verbrigghe. "We then spent the next several months querying customer preferences, sourcing the perfect cotton stretch shirting fabric and - ultimately - designing the first styles."
As with its suiting line, the company has placed special emphasis on fit, style and fabric quality. Unlike its custom women's suits, however - which can only be purchased in Moi-Meme's showroom following a comprehensive process of measurement-taking - the women's dress shirts will be available for purchase by anyone in the U.S. and Canada directly through the company's website.
Before placing a custom shirt order, customers are asked to have a friend, family member or tailor take a total of 14 measurements. Each customer inputs her measurements into Moi-Meme's website, then begins to design her own custom dress shirt - selecting from amongst a number of designs, fabrics, cuff styles and more; 360 different shirt combinations are possible. Measurements are stored in the company's database to facilitate easy online re-ordering. Each custom shirt is individually tailored and shipped within 4-6 weeks.
Ms. Verbrigghe - who is also a professor at Parsons the New School for Design - founded Moi-Meme two years ago to address the need for stylish, office-appropriate apparel that fits and flatters women of all body types. The company has since developed a strong following amongst those seeking petite suits and suits for tall women in particular and was recently named one of the "Best Fashion Labels for Tall Women" by O, The Oprah Magazine.
