Magnezit started production of refractories on new technology

Combine "Magnesite" (Satka, Chelyabinsk region) started production of refractories for steel furnaces of masonry vaults with improved properties for the new technology. Products produced on the basis of sintered periclase powders and natural chromium ore optimized grain composition. As the press office of the Group of Magnesite, compared to traditional products, new refractory materials have several advantages: a low propensity for capillary impregnation of molten metal on the working surface of the lining, high temperature resistance. They are also characterized by high apparent density (3.06-3.12 g/cm3), which is one of the factors increasing resistance to erosion of the metal, slag and gases, and high compressive strength (70-80 N/mm2) determining the structural Indicators of service.
Comparative testing of new refractory materials with serial under identical operating conditions of the lining of a set of open-hearth furnace showed their increased durability and less susceptibility to erosion and corrosion. The reason for this is the low penetration rate of melt metal, slag and the gas deep into the product because of the small pore size and low melt wettability of pore walls due to the increased proportion formed surface area of the pore channels.
Physical and technical characteristics of the properties of new refractory brands PHSS, PHSU and PHSST, correspond to the requirements of GOST10888-93.
