Turners & Growers northern hemisphere ENZA kiwifruit programmes are underway with the season s first shipment of ENZARed kiwifruit arriving in Taiwan and the company looking to expand into new markets in 2011 off the back of its success this year.
In another first for the Kiwi company that gave kiwifruit its name, Turners & Growers is about the start the first ENZA MEGAkiwi programme into Europe this year, selling the new large variety of green kiwifruit grown in Greece.
Turners & Growers Managing Director, Jeff Wesley said ENZA s first programme into the premium Japanese market this year has gone extremely well with bigger volumes confirmed for next season. The quality of fruit has generally been excellent and customers already know and love the ENZA brand because of its New Zealand heritage.
Mr Wesley said the quality of the fruit and strength of the brand with consumers has given buyers confidence to expand the programmes in their countries next year.
Turners & Growers is establishing northern and southern hemisphere growing hubs for its range of kiwifruit varieties so that its international customers have year-round supply.
Internationally our challenge to New Zealand s ban on kiwifruit exports and ENZA s range of new kiwifruit varieties has created a lot of buzz and excitement around the ENZA kiwifruit brand. We re seen as an innovator and a challenger and that s creating valuable shelf space for our new varieties in-store.
This season ENZA s southern hemisphere growing hubs in New Zealand and Chile produced ENZAGold for the Australian market and ENZAGreen for Japan, Korea, China, India, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
All of those markets except Australia, China and Korea were new for ENZA kiwifruit. The expansion of the brand next year will continue with new programmes confirmed for South East Asia, Australia, USA and Europe.
