BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Wang Zhaoguo, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called on Chinese youth to adhere to Marxism while making efforts to build a well-off society.
Wang made the remarks at a forum in Beijing Thursday to mark the 75th anniversary of the December 9th Movement, a democratic campaign in 1935 by secondary school and college students under the leadership of the CPC.
Young Marxists should promote their theoretical and practical abilities, share common sentiments with the general public and keep their innovative spirit, Wang said.
Wang also called on young Marxists in China to adhere to a Marxist political stance in the current complicated circumstances.
More than 200 university students, who are participants of a national young Marxism promotion project, attended the forum.
The Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee launched the project in 2007. It offers training courses and practice programs at national, provincial and university level to about 200,000 university students around China annually.
