BASF increases prices for certain polyalcohols in Europe

Ludwigshafen, Germany November 29, 2010 BASF is increasing the prices of the polyalcohols neopentylglycol (NPG), trimethylolpropane (TMP), 1,6-hexanediol (HDO), epsilon-caprolactone (CLO), with immediate effect or as existing contracts permit in Europe.

Neopentylglycol (NPG): +100 EUR/mt

Trimethylolpropane (TMP): +100 EUR/mt

1,6-Hexanediol (HDO): +200 EUR/mt

Epsilon-Caprolactone (CLO): +200 EUR/mt

Polyalcohols are widely used in solvent-free coatings and for the production of polyurethanes, alkyd resins, unsaturated polyester resins and synthetic lubricants.
