The Philippines' inflation for July remained at a manageable level of 3.9 percent, according to a report released on Thursday by the Philippine National Statistics Office (NSO).
This was, however, higher than the 0.2 percent recorded in the same month last year, which NSO said was mostly the result of higher food and beverage prices, housing and repair prices and services index.
"The increases were still tempered by the slower increase in fuel, light and water and miscellaneous items index," NSO said.
On an annual basis, the prices of food alone at the national level went up to 3.3 percent in July from 3.2 percent in June. NSO said.
