China-Vietnam Business and Investment Cooperation Forum Held in Beijing

In the afternoon of August 30, China-Vietnam Business and Investment Cooperation Forum was held in Beijing with CCPIT, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry(VCCI) and Vietnam s Embassy in China as the hosts. Attendees included CCPIT Vice Chairman Yu Ping, Deputy Director General Liang Wentao of the Department of Asian Affairs of MOFCOM, Vietnam s Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, Vietnam s Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho, President Doan Manh Giao of Vietnam-China Friendship Association, Vice President and Secretary General Pham Gia Tuc and other over 250 business representatives.

CCPIT Chairman Yu Ping said in his speech that with the official launch of China-ASEAN FTA this year, Vietnam would become an important bridge connecting China and ASEAN countries, and its favorable geographical location would be appealing to more Chinese investors. He hoped that entrepreneurs of the two countries could enhance cooperation and make joint contribution to the development of the economic and trade relations of the two countries.

Minister Hoang suggested enlarged commodity trade and tourism cooperation by the entrepreneurs of the two countries. He invited Chinese enterprises to invest and start up business in Vietnam and suggested exchange of experiences in the construction of industrial parks, export processing areas and port facilities.

After that, entrepreneurs attending the forum held match-making talks in areas of machinery equipment, chemical fertilizer, auto parts, light industry, household electronic appliances and real estate sector.
