On March 11, the 9.0 magnitude earthquake in northeastern Japan caused grave personnel and financial losses.
CCPIT and CCOIC Chairman Wan Jifei expressed sincere condolences to the Japanese people including the victims over telephone calls to the Japanese Ambassador to China Mr. Uichiro Niwa, and Japan s economic and trade promotion organizations in China such as Japan-China Economic Association, JAPIT, Japan Federation of Economic Organizations, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Japan External Trade Organization. Chairman Wan expressed that CCPIT would provide every possible means to make concerted efforts with Japan to weather the storm and reconstruct homeland.
