S Korean shares open higher

South Korean shares started higher on Monday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 10.89 points, or 0.62 percent, to stand at 1,770.22 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
The local currency was trading at 1173.1 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:46 a.m., down 9.6 won from Friday's close.
