The 10th water and sediment regulation of Yellow River began

On June 19, the Yellow River Conservancy Commission (YRCC) launched this year s water and sediment regulation of Yellow River. Since 2002, YRCC has implemented the regulation for 10 times.

By increasing the outflow discharged from Xiaolangdi reservoir with the water above the limited water level for flood control of this reservoir, the water and sediment regulation aims to increase the sediment transport ratio of density flow of Xiaolangdi reservoir, prolong this reservoir s service life for debris-retaining, enhance the minimum carrying capacity of natural channel-control in lower reach of Yellow River, and carry out ecological water transfer in the Delta area.
