Over 180 representatives from China's AAAAA Scenic Areas, and the cities they are located in, announced the establishment of China AAAAA Scenic Area City Alliance in Sanya during the 2010 Boao International Tourism Forum.
The alliance aims to enhance cooperation between these scenic areas and the cities they are located in and to improve the brands of boutique tourist attractions and outstanding tourist cities.
The Chinese National Tourism Administration approved the first batch of State AAAAA Scenic Areas in May 2007. Till now China has 67 AAAAA Scenic Areas in 55 cities.
The China AAAAA Scenic Area City Alliance is a non-profit cooperative organization. It will have a number of standing bodies including a secretariat, a scenic area development committee, and a marketing committee with liaison offices in Beijing and Sanya.
